FAQs
Does it hurt?
Numbing is applied before treatments, but most people find the process is perfectly fine without. This can be explored in more depth at your free Consultation Appointment.
How long does it take?
Treatments can last between 2 - 4 hours, depending on chosen procedure.
What is Microblading?
Microblading uses a hand tool to create realistic looking hairstrokes in the browline. Although it is called Micro"blading" it is not a blade. It is actually a row of 10-16 very fine needles, which scratch the surface of the skin, implanting pigment into the top layers of the skin as they go! Unlike permanent 'tattooed' eyebrows, the microblading method has no spilling under the skin; making the aftercare of your eyebrow treatment much less intensive.
Microblading is not suitable for oily or mature skin, so the alternative is either powder brows or nano strokes (Hairstrokes made by machine).
What is Ombre or powder brows?
Ombre or Powder brows help clients achieve a more powdered look, instead of individual hairstrokes. It gives the brow area a soft brow powder 'makeup' effect and works well for clients with oily or mature skin.
The 'powdered' effect is created by using a method of implanting pigment on a single needle (or a tight configeration of needles). This creates a soft pixellated look on the skin, which give the effect of powder having been sprinkled onto the brow.
Is Microblading or powder brows permanent?
OK, so here's my analogy... It's permanent like staining a fence panel is permanent - It may be 20 years before all of the stain is FULLY gone; it will wear away unevenly and it will stay soaked in the more porous areas. Restaining is needed every few years to keep it looking fresh! BUT to get back to actual wood, you would have to strip it (Removal).
What type of removal?
We use a Saline method of removal, called LI-ft. It is completely natural and uses the method of 'Osmosis' to draw unwanted pigment out of the skin.
Unlike laser, saline can be used on ALL pigment colours, and lifts the pigment out of the skin, rather than breaking it down; to be absorbed by the body later. Up to 4 treatments may be required, which are spaced a minimum of 8 weeks apart (no exceptions).
As well a removal, saline may be used for the lightening of dark, saturated brows, and can also be used to remove body tattoos. In addition, we offer a service of emergency permanent makeup removal - this must be carried out within the first 48 hours of the initial procedure.
